Middle School Teacher

The Auburn School's Baltimore campus is actively recruiting a full-time middle school teacher for the current 2018-2019 academic year, to begin at the start of the 2019 calendar year.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree. Masters degree preferred
Experience in Special Education K-8
Certification from the Maryland State Department of Education required (DoE certifications from other states may be considered)
Certified in Special Education, or qualified for Conditional Certification
A minimum of 2 years of classroom special education experience preferred
Sound understanding of, and sensitivity to, children and adolescents with special learning needs
Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder, organizational challenges, ADHD and/or NVLD preferred
Experience with differentiated and inquiry based instruction, multiage classrooms, positive behavior management, social learning, and assistive learning technologies preferred
Experience with the Understanding by Design curriculum framework is a plus
Ability to use classroom management strategies for successful large group activities
Strong interpersonal skills, a good sense of humor, and flexibility are essential
Record of success in previous positions as evidenced by excellent references
Highly organized and detail oriented
Commitment to professional excellence and collaboration with team members
Technologically adept
Enthusiastic about the opportunity to teach students with social and communication challenge

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
